How You Will Contribute:

Ciena’s Virtual Broadband Network Gateway team is looking for an engineer with computer Science or equivalent graduate degree to join the Quality Assurance and automation team.

• The desired candidate must have strong analytical skills and expertise in at least one scripting language, preferably Python.
• The ideal candidate would be passionate about end to end automation of testing BNG and CGNAT like Network Functions.
• Be able to understand and develop test cases for the new features being developed by our software teams.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and ability to understand end to end automation.
• Troubleshoot software issues and work with software and system engineers to identify root cause.

What Does Ciena Expect of You? 

• Strong skills in Python and basic understanding of operating systems.
• Comfortable developing and debugging in Linux environment.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP networking and basic understanding of a Broadband Network.
• Motivation and capability to learn new technologies
• Independent self-starter and committed to delivering against deadlines
• Comfortable in a team environment with ability to work with little supervision
• Must be a fast learner with good debugging skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior knowledge of test tools such as Spirent and IXIA is a plus
• Candidate must have 0-1 year of experience working in Linux environment
• Bachelor of Computer Engineering or equivalent degree.

• The candidate will work fellow quality engineers, developers and support personnel while overseeing the quality of the solution.
